SuperFreds ("we", "our", or "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our mobile application.

1. Information We Collect

a. Account Information

To use SuperFreds, you need to create an account. We collect:

  • Email address (or other credentials used for sign-in)
  • Basic profile information you provide

Account creation and authentication are handled through Supabase.

b. Threads Account Connection

SuperFreds connects to your Threads account so it can schedule and publish posts on your behalf. This requires:

  • Authorization tokens issued by Meta/Threads when you connect your account
  • Basic Threads profile information (e.g. username) needed to identify your account within the app

We only use this access to publish content you have explicitly approved, and to display your scheduled/published posts back to you. We do not read your private Threads messages or use this access for any purpose other than the features described in this policy.

c. Content You Create

SuperFreds is built around conversations with an AI assistant ("Freds") and the content you generate through it. This includes:

  • Messages you send to Freds (e.g. weekly updates, ideas, brainstorming)
  • Threads drafts generated by AI or written by you
  • Scheduling details (date, time, status) for drafts and published posts
  • Your conversation history with Freds, so you can revisit or continue past sessions

This content is stored in our database (Supabase) so it can be shown to you across sessions and devices, and is sent to our AI provider solely to generate responses and draft content on your behalf.

d. Usage Data

We collect limited usage data to understand how users interact with the app, such as:

  • App interactions (e.g. which mode you use — Weekly Session, Single Post, Write)
  • Device type and operating system
  • General usage patterns

e. Analytics

We use PostHog to analyze app usage and improve our product. This may collect anonymous device identifiers and events such as button taps and feature usage.

f. Subscription and Payment Information

Subscriptions are managed through RevenueCat. When you subscribe, RevenueCat processes purchase and billing information on our behalf. We do not directly collect or store your payment card details — these are handled by the app store (Apple App Store) and RevenueCat.

2. How We Use Information

We use collected information to:

  • Provide the core features of SuperFreds (chat with Freds, generate and schedule Threads, publish to your connected Threads account)
  • Maintain your conversation history and scheduled/published content
  • Process and manage your subscription
  • Improve app performance and features
  • Fix bugs and optimize user experience

We do not sell your personal data.

3. Data Storage

  • Account information, conversations, drafts, and scheduling data are stored in our database, hosted by Supabase
  • Subscription data is processed and stored by RevenueCat in accordance with their privacy practices
  • Analytics data is processed by PostHog in accordance with their privacy practices

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate the app:

  • Supabase, Apple, Google: authentication
  • RevenueCat and Apple App Store: subscription and payment management
  • Meta / Threads API: to connect your account and publish content on your behalf
  • PostHog: to understand app usage and improve the product

These services may process data according to their own privacy policies.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties for advertising purposes. We share data only:

  • With the service providers listed above, to the extent necessary to operate SuperFreds
  • With Threads/Meta, when you choose to publish or schedule content, since publishing requires posting through their platform
  • If required by law

6. Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information, including relying on Apple's, Supabase's and RevenueCat's security practices. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

7. Your Rights

You can:

  • Edit or delete individual conversations and drafts within the app
  • Disconnect your Threads account at any time
  • Request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us
  • Stop using the app or delete it at any time

8. Children's Privacy

SuperFreds is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date.
